Constantinos Christofides

Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee

 

Constantinos is a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He started his career with Price Waterhouse & Co in London. He then transferred to the company’s Nicosia offices and later moved to Coopers & Lybrand in Nicosia. After serving the audit profession for nine years, he switched to the banking sector and joined Grindlays Bank Plc in Nicosia, where he worked as country CFO for 8½ years. He then moved to Arab Bank Plc in Nicosia where he served as country CFO for 24 years.

In 2008 he founded family company Citius Services Ltd (now Citius Trust Ltd), which offers accountancy, auditing, taxation and general consultancy services to clients in Cyprus and abroad. He serves as the company’s Managing Director.

The Central Bank of Cyprus appointed Constantinos as special administrator of Bank of Cyprus Public Company Ltd in March 2013 and as special administrator of FBME Bank Ltd (Cyprus branches) in July 2014 when the two banks came under resolution.

Constantinos holds the title of Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants In England and Wales, and the title of Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB). He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus.

Outside his business activities, Constantinos is involved in several professional, educational and charitable organizations in Cyprus and abroad. He is currently serving as treasurer and secretary of the European Financial Planning Association (EFPA) AISBL in Belgium, and as treasurer and council member of the Cyprus Red Cross Society.
